The Apple Laptops is as popular as ever and the thirteen inch MacBook Pro is the most successful one for Apple. Recently they released their 15 Inch Retina MacBook Pro and now they gave the 13 Inch the same treatment.
The most important change is the display resolution in my opinion. Apple likes to call this “retina” but it means in plain english that you can not distinguish individual pixels on the display at a normal usage range. If this display is as good as the 15 inch model it will be stunning. The resolution is 2560 x 1600.
The one drawback that I can think of is the serviceability. As a computer nerd I still like to upgrade and do some custom things to my computers. With the new laptops from Apple this is getting more and more difficult. However, to get this kind of design and performance in such a small package some sacrifises must be made and I think they are worth it. Get a PC if you want to build something! As I have done …
The base model starts at $1699 at Apple. This will give you the following specs: 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz, 8GB 1600MHz memory, 128GB flash storage, Intel HD Graphics 4000 and a Built-in battery lasting seven hours.
At $1999 you get 256GB Flash storage instead. It is possible to configure it with even more flash storage and faster CPU. 8GB RAM seems to be max though. Let me know what you think about the computer if you get it. I am quite happy with my 15 inch.
